Connection across the world. . .

People have told me, " Don't take the internet seriously. They have told me, "Those peoplearen't REAL. They have told me a lot about the internet.
I have heard story after story of heartache.I have witnessed pain, sorrow and intense love.I have seen peoples hearts printed out for the world to see, in hopes it will touch someone.
One of the most important things I have seen though, I'm not sure I could put into words. It's a connection. It's hard to imagine unless you've been there. When people get together, over the miles... state to state and country to country, and they connect. really connect ! ! It is amazing. Absolutely amazing.
I'm not talking about the "man to woman" connection. I'm talking about the "friend to friend." I'm talking about some people you have met, that instantly you knew were going to be important in your life.
The ones you laugh with, kid with, cry with, hurt for when they are hurting. They make you worry. They make you crazy! The ones who touch you deep inside when they are not there anymore, and make you wish they were.
If you have ever experienced that type of connection with someone you have never met face to face... you have indeed been blessed. I know, without a doubt, that I have!

Right, there are things on the web that are pretty far out there. But!! There are also connections that are special. People that you can tell are real. People that don't hide. I don't like to hide, that is why I post my picture and share my life and thoughts with others.

You asked, "My animated pix doesn't work on my posts. What am I doing wrong??'

I'm not sure hon, do you mean that you post animations on your blog that don't work? Or you can't see the animated ones I post on my blog?

That is a cute card you posted today. I like things like that. Hugs.

Hum, your hit counter is interesting. It's shows the country the visitor is in? That's kind of cool, maybe I should get one. Hugs.

bbc: Thanks for your comments. I try to put animated pix in my posts (like the one of Mr. Bean in "The shop that sell men.") The pic is there but it doesn't animate.

I know what you mean kirsten. The internet has taken over letter writing as a way to connect over long distances. I believe online friendships are just as powerful as face to face ones.

True. Very true.

Kirsten.. The animation won't show when you are working on the post, but it should show after it is posted. And animation is a .gif file most of the time. I can make them. most of them consist of ten frames (pictures) or less.

When you are working on your post you only see the first frame. But once it is posted Internet Explorer or Firefox should show the animation properly. Does this information help hon?

What makes a good story? Adventure, excitement, intrige, romance, sex, swearing.

In other words, just plain old fashioned bullshit. LOL

I've known a lot of friends through the net. Many interesting friends whom I will never have the chance if I have not used this form of communicating.

Anyway, I have made a purchase for your book. It will probably take a month's time before I can receive it though..

Kirsten, such thoughts. And it's only the beginning.:)
As for animated gifs, they will animate only on the Firefox browser, there is a glitch in IE. Just upload as you would a normal jpeg and then post, view the blog in Firefox.

bbc & Lexcen: Ohh, so that's why. Because it is a Gif.file but my computer is so old with a memory so low, so i can't download anything more. I have to wait then until I can buy a new PC.
Well, maybe over Christmas...

Hammer & princess: I have made friendship over internett and even met a few in real life. And it has been so successful and pleasant. Really nice people.

Maricopa Mark: Thank you so much for the review.

Kirsten, do you know how to defrag?
This could be the answer. Maybe getting rid of temp files as well.Any programs you don't need could be deleted. Gif files aren't large so they shouldn't be a problem with space. Don't lose hope.

Lexcen: OK...I'll try.

Princess: Thanks for purchasing my book. I look forward to your review.

If you are not using Firefox you should give it a try. Or if you go into System Tools/System Information, you can tell it to fix Explorer. You will lose your customization but you can do that again easily enough.

My computer has a small hard drive but it still has lots of room on it even though I've saved many things on it. Hugs.

Yes, I've met several very interesting people through blogging that I would now consider friends & have even made the real "connection" with some!

The most intriguing part is that in "real" life I'm absolutely positive this "connection" would be very unlikely even if geography was not an issue! Completely foreign cultures, ethnicity, social, religious, & economic backgrounds, etc..etc..

Hehe, I'm also sure in "real" life most would be rather surprised by my appearance & the initial first impressions I may portray. :P

The internet has a great way of bypassing such insignificant things!
